Job Title: Shelter Manager
Location: Middletown, NY
Salary: $65,000 annually

Seeking an experienced and compassionate Shelter Manager to oversee the daily operations of a family shelter serving individuals experiencing homelessness. This leadership role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a difference, excels at managing teams, and is committed to providing safe, supportive, and trauma-informed services in a fast-paced environment. 
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the daily operations of the family shelter, including staff supervision, scheduling, program oversight, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provide leadership and support to staff while fostering a trauma-informed, client-centered environment focused on quality care and service.
  • Coordinate admissions, discharges, case conferencing, documentation, quality assurance, and reporting to ensure program effectiveness and compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, regulatory agencies, and internal departments while responding to program needs and on-call situations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field, plus at least three years of experience in shelter, supportive housing, or human services management, including supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage staff and support individuals experiencing crisis.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, electronic documentation systems (HMIS, EHR, or similar), and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Valid New York State driver's license required; bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
