Job Description
Shelter Manager: $80/kOverall responsibility for the Adult/Family Shelters, Shelter Case Management, and the Call Center. Qualified indiduals will manage the fast-paced day to day activities of the above programs which involves creating and managing program content and initiatives; responding to the needs of individuals or families who are experiencing homelessness found in Orange County.
Must have full working knowledge of all programs policies and procedures as well as the NYS OTDA, NYS DOH and Department of Social Service regulations to ensure all Shelter programs are in compliance. This position is responsible for being on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide leadership, supervision, and direct support to the Shelter Program Team.
Job Duties:
Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in social work or a related field with three years’ experience in shelter or supportive housing operations, and community engagement with at least one-year supervisory experience.
Must have full working knowledge of all programs policies and procedures as well as the NYS OTDA, NYS DOH and Department of Social Service regulations to ensure all Shelter programs are in compliance. Job Duties:
- Interviewing, hiring, and training employees
- Planning, assigning, scheduling, and directing work
- Oversees the development of all Shelter RC, Case Management, Environmental Services (Housekeeping) and Call Center schedules and staffing changes. (Will be required to cover breaks, absences, and unfilled shifts as necessary).
