Job Description

The Senior Bank Teller/Assistant Branch Manager will play a key leadership role in the daily operations of the branch. This position assists with teller supervision, transaction accuracy, customer service excellence, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will mentor, guide, and support the teller team while ensuring exceptional customer experiences and achieving branch goals.Key Responsibilities:
  1. Teller Support and Supervision:
    • Oversee daily teller line operations, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
    • Assist with balancing cash drawers, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely transaction processing.
    • Train, mentor, and evaluate teller staff, providing feedback and coaching to enhance performance.
    • Schedule teller coverage to ensure adequate staffing levels during peak and non-peak hours.
  2. Customer Service and Relationship Building:
    • Assist customers with inquiries, transactions, and issue resolution in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Proactively identify customer needs and refer appropriate products and services to support their financial goals.
    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to promote retention and satisfaction.
  3. Operational Excellence:
    • Assist with opening/closing procedures, branch cash management, and ATM/vault balancing.
    • Monitor teller line activities to ensure operational efficiency, accuracy, and fraud prevention.
    • Support branch audits, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
    • Perform end-of-day balancing for branch cash and assist with reporting as needed.
  4. Leadership and Team Development:
    • Act as a role model for professionalism, customer service, and operational excellence.
    • Foster a collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and staff engagement.
    • Support the Branch Manager with team training, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
    • Serve as the go-to resource for teller staff, addressing questions and resolving operational issues.
  5. Sales Support:
    • Assist in meeting branch sales goals by identifying opportunities to cross-sell and upsell products.
    • Collaborate with branch leadership to implement promotional campaigns and product training for tellers.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Teller, Senior Teller, or equivalent role in a banking environment.
  • Prior experience supervising or coaching staff preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of banking products, services, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with banking software systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to multitask, manage priorities, and remain detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
  • Flexibility to work branch hours, including occasional evenings or weekends.
