POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sales Director coordinates the sales activities for the business unit, collaborating with various internal teams such as senior leadership, product management, marketing, and research & development. This role is responsible for implementing and developing the commercial strategy to meet business objectives. Additionally, the Sales Director will oversee account strategies, drive sales growth, and manage key customer relationships. The role involves leading account managers and distribution partners in order to meet business targets and develop new opportunities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to achieve business targets
  • Create annual sales budget and provide regular progress updates
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and internal teams
  • Lead account managers in securing new business through product and solution selling
  • Support the creation and execution of target account plans for key customers
  • Drive sales activities including prospecting, reporting, and new account development
  • Oversee day-to-day activities of account managers, ensuring alignment with business goals
  • Conduct sales meetings, plan territory strategies, and manage customer relations
  • Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts and progress reports
  • Ensure proper documentation and tracking of sales activities in CRM tools
  • Collaborate with internal teams for commercial project development and market intelligence
  • Work with support functions to ensure customer satisfaction and service levels are met
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Supervise the performance of account managers
  • Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Prior experience working with the Nutraceutical, Food Ingredient industry
  • Strong customer relationship, sales, and team management skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and build strong internal and external relationships
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
  • Knowledge of industry-specific products and services
  • 5-10 years of experience in sales, ideally in the ingredients or related industry
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Travel: Minimum of 50%
