Job Description

Fiscal Specialist, 1st Shift, temporary. $70,000/YRResponsibilities:
  • Record and post cash transactions; minimize unclassified postings to under two weeks.
  • Eliminate and monitor the non-use of "MISC" and "OTHER" accounts; reclassify balances.
  • Complete and reconcile all bank accounts within 10 business days; ensure zero discrepancies.
  • Manage and resolve outstanding checks, including reporting to "NYS Unclaimed Funds" for checks over one year.
  • Maintain daily accuracy of book balances in QuickBooks.
  • Collaborate with the CFO on cash-flow projections and process improvements.
  • Assist with monthly book closures, journal entries, and financial reports for stakeholders.
  • Oversee bi-weekly payroll, prepare reports, and maintain payroll/accounting databases.
  • Reconcile inter-affiliate accounts monthly.
  • Provide reports for managers and assist with quarterly/annual funding submissions.
  • Document task processes and support cross-training efforts.
  • Support special projects and other fiscal duties to uphold financial integrity.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred) or Associate’s with equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks, ADP, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
