Job Title: Finance Director
Location: Middletown, NY
Salary: $85,000 to $95,000 annually

Seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Director to lead and oversee all financial operations in support of the organization’s mission. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role is responsible for financial planning, reporting, compliance, internal controls, and supervision of the fiscal team. The ideal candidate brings strong nonprofit accounting experience, leadership capability, and a commitment to ethical financial stewardship.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations including General Ledger, A/P, A/R, SSA Representative Payee accounts, inventory, cash management, and monthly/year-end close

• Prepare and analyze financial reports, manage audit processes, maintain GAAP compliance, and ensure strong internal controls

• Supervise and develop fiscal staff, ensuring smooth daily operations and cross-coverage across finance functions

• Coordinate budgeting, grant and project accounting, donor reporting, vendor contracts, and financial systems management

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Minimum three (3) years of progressive fiscal management experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit financial regulations, and cost accounting principles

• Proficiency in QuickBooks and/or Fund EZ, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and ability to maintain manual accounting records

• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills with ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently
