Job Title: Director of Manufacturing Development
Location: New Windsor, NY
Salary: $100,000+ annually depending on experience

Seeking a dynamic and relationship-focused Director of Manufacturing Development to help strengthen the Hudson Valley manufacturing community. This highly visible role partners directly with manufacturers to improve operations, drive business growth, connect companies with valuable resources, and advance the region's manufacturing ecosystem. Responsibilities:
  • Build strong relationships with regional manufacturers while identifying opportunities for business growth, operational improvements, funding, and strategic partnerships.
  • Conduct manufacturing assessments and support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, operational excellence, quality systems, and compliance readiness.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between manufacturers, Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) resources, economic development organizations, and industry partners.
  • Represent the Council of Industry through member outreach, workforce initiatives, industry events, presentations, and advocacy efforts that strengthen manufacturing across the region.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field with at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, business development, or economic development.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, or similar operational excellence methodologies.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, presentation, and project management skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience collaborating with manufacturers, educational institutions, community organizations, or economic development partners; knowledge of MEP programs, grants, or workforce development initiatives is a plus.
