Job Description
Certified Asbestos Supervisor, Full-time ( Night and weekends as necessary) Must have a thorough understanding of asbestos removal procedures, safety protocols, and team management, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Oversee projects in compliance with New York State and federal regulations.
• Supervise and manage all aspects of asbestos abatement projects, including planning, execution, and compliance.• Oversee asbestos abatement workers, ensuring adherence to proper safety protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and worksite regulations.• Conduct pre-abatement inspections to assess the scope of work and ensure proper containment setup.• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including NYS Department of Labor (NYS DOL) Part 56 and OSHA standards.• Maintain detailed project documentation, including daily logs, air monitoring results, and waste disposal manifests.• Coordinate with clients, project managers, and third-party inspectors to ensure timely project completion.• Safely handle, package, and transport asbestos-containing materials to approved disposal sites.• Respond promptly to emergencies or unexpected project challenges.

Qualifications:• Valid New York State Asbestos Supervisor Certification (40-hour course).• Current medical clearance, including respirator fit test certification•Minimum of 5 years of experience in asbestos abatement or related fields.• Knowledge of NYS asbestos regulations, including Code Rule 56.• Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team.• Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and safety guidelines.
Preferred:• Experience with other environmental remediation (lead, mold, etc.).• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.• Bi-lingual skills in English and Spanish.
Working Conditions:• Physically demanding role; requires standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.• Exposure to asbestos-containing materials and hazardous environments (with appropriate PPE provided).• Work may include nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
