Finishing TechnicianReports To: Finishing Supervisor
Job Summary: Join our team as a Finishing Technician, where you'll work under moderate supervision to manufacture a range of our products in one or more work centers.Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manufacture products in one or more work centers, ensuring:
    • Compliance with applicable specifications
    • Costs are maintained at or below standard
    • Deadlines are met or exceeded
    • Adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Manipulate Company materials, including:
    • Production Supplies
    • Raw Materials
    • Other Purchased Materials
    • Work In Process
    • Value Added Items
    • Finished Goods
  • Set up molds, jigs, and other production tooling
  • Operate various production machines
  • Use mechanical measurement tools to determine dimensions
  • Perform mathematical calculations
  • Extract data from drawings, specifications, charts, tables, and other documents
  • Adjust machines and fixtures
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on production machines
  • Clean up work areas, machines, and production tooling
  • Record data regarding work performed
  • Recommend improved procedures and methodologies for continuous improvement, including:
    • Increasing acceptance rates of finished goods
    • Decreasing production costs
    • Reducing production lead-time
    • Minimizing effluent pollution
    • Enhancing ergonomics
  • Train coworkers on operating and maintenance procedures and production methods
  • Provide input for product reference documents, including:
    • Routings (Bills of Materials)
    • Manufacturing Process Control Work Instructions
    • Manufacturing Process Control Forms
    • Equipment-specific documents (Operating and Preventative Maintenance Instructions)
  • Undertake any other tasks deemed necessary by management
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Verbal and written comprehension skills typically acquired upon completion of High School
  • Ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings
  • CNC experience desired
  • Physical requirements include the ability to:
    • Lift products weighing up to 80 lbs. to table height and/or shelf height (up to 6’)
    • Stand for extended periods
    • Work wearing a dust mask appropriate to working conditions
    • Work wearing safety glasses
    • Climb ladders
    • Reach with arms fully extended in any direction
