Job Description

Job Title: Leasing Specialist
Location: Onsite – Middletown, NY (minimal travel to Chester/Warwick)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Reports To: Leasing Department Supervisor
Summary:
The Leasing Specialist conducts applicant interviews, determines eligibility under the Tax Credit Program, and submits complete, compliant files in a timely manner while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with Tax Credit program requirements
  • Conduct eligibility interviews and collect required documentation
  • Organize, maintain, and update applicant files and waitlists
  • Submit complete files to compliance with minimal findings
  • Update file status daily in VTR
  • Respond promptly to calls, emails, and site visits
  • Communicate application status and timelines to prospects
  • Provide professional, responsive customer service
  • Attend required meetings and trainings
Qualifications:
  • 3–5 years Tax Credit experience (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Yardi experience a plus
  • NYS Real Estate Salesperson License (or ability to obtain)
  • NYS Notary (or ability to obtain)
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License
  • Industry certifications (TCS, COS, CAM) a plus
