Job Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Middletown, NY
Salary: $60,000 to $75,000 annually, depending on experience

Seeking a Staff Accountant to support financial reporting, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and regulatory compliance. This role works closely with the Finance Director to help ensure accurate financial records and efficient accounting operations. 

Responsibilities:

• Prepare month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Maintain general ledger accounts, bank reconciliations, fixed asset schedules, and supporting financial records.
• Process payroll-related accounting entries and reconcile employee benefit and expense allocation accounts.
• Assist with audits, budget variance analysis, 1099 reporting, and accounting process improvements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience; nonprofit accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Fund EZ, and Microsoft Excel; valid NYS Driver's License required.
