Job Description

Job Title: Accountant
Location: Middletown, NY
Salary: $28 hourly

We are seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to support financial operations through spreadsheet management, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting. This role works independently with data systems while collaborating with staff and leadership to ensure accurate financial processes.

Responsibilities
  • Create, maintain, and utilize spreadsheets and databases to support financial tasks
  • Perform accounts receivable functions including billing, posting, vouchering, and collection follow-up
  • Prepare recurring and adjusting journal entries and support financial statement preparation
  • Assist with internal and external audits, reconciliations, financial ratios, and year-end projections
Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to identify trends and improve processes
  • Excellent computer skills, including advanced Excel and database proficiency
  • Associate degree in Accounting with 1 year of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree
  • Non-profit accounting experience preferred
